Become a Master Clinician

Master Clinician Network (MCN) is a platform for guided observation and the development of clinical skills in speech-language pathology. It is co-owned and developed by Alecia S. Fischer, M.A., CCC-SLP and Martin A. Fischer, Ph.D., CCC-SLP, FASHA.

MCN was designed to give students the opportunity to observe expert-level speech-language pathologists in a variety of clinical settings. To this end we have created a repository of over 150 videos showing a wide range of treatment and evaluation sessions. Using our platform, students and faculty engage in collaborative learning experiences that allow faculty to customize student learning with individual debriefing exchanges. Since its launch in 2011, students from over 300 universities have completed in excess of 500,000 guided observations using MCN.

Confidentiality and Security:

Client confidentiality and network security are our top priorities. Our website uses the highest levels of encryption and password identification to ensure its security. Access is restricted to faculty and students in accredited SLP or SLPA programs, and licensed SLP and SLPA practitioners who agree to abide by the code of ethics of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association as it pertains to client confidentiality. Confidential authorization and release forms have been obtained from all clients and clinicians appearing in our videos.

Research and Clinical Pedagogy:

Master Clinician Network is committed to supporting clinical teaching and research in the field of speech-language pathology. We regularly present at state, national, and international conferences on speech-language pathology, and are a major corporate sponsor of the Journal of Teaching and Learning in Communication Sciences and Disorders.
